Hi Welcome to the BLOG for Workshop 26 – Making Poverty History in Second Life in the Youth Leadership Conference 28-30 July 2008 at Melbourne Grammar School.
My name is Alberto Rizzo and I am the teacher in charge of this workshop .
We have 450 students from 22 different schools attending the conference. If you have any ideas or questions about what you’d like to discuss in our workshop please add it to this Blog as we’re hoping to get some discussion going before the conference, so make sure you check this BLOG often to participate in our discussions and also to check the latest news.
- Casual clothes are to be worn for this event.
- A long sleeved T-Shirt will be supplied,
- morning tea will be served each day but not lunch.
- You will need to bring your own lunch.
Registration is on Monday 28th from 8.00am and the conference will start at 9.00am. There will be plenty of people around telling you where to register
Please Note:
Because of the special nature of this workshop you will also need to do the following:
- send me your email address – this needs to be one which has NOT already been registered in Second Life
- send me your Date of Birth – this is so that you can enter TEEN ISLAND in Second Life.
- Bring your own laptop computer to the Conference
- there will be a safe spot where you can store it when you are not working on it
- let me know if you can’t bring a laptop with the required spec’s and I will see if I can organise to get you a desktop for the conference. - Check that your computer has the appropriate system requirements to operate Second Life at this URL http://secondlife.com/support/sysreqs.php
- you might need to ask your school’s IT technician to do that for you.
I look forward to meeting you on Monday 28th July.
Cheers, hope to hear from you soon.
